Features and Benefits CAPTOR 4060X is a biodegradable foam additive for mechanised tunnelling. It helps to improve production and promote good EPB control by: Reducing or preventing clay clogging of TBM cutter head assemblies. Increasing shear effect in the mining operation. Promoting good flow properties in difficult spoil s. Clay plasticisation with minimal water addition. Promoting true EPB support by converting the clay mass into a pressure regulating and transmitting medium. Minimising water consumption CAPTOR 4060X is a super-concentrated format for world-wide export. This produces large savings in shipping and storage costs. | How to Use One tonne of this material will, just by adding water, produce 3 to 5 tonnes of standard tunnelling foam. Not only does this cut the price of the product - it also reduces the storage cost and the packaging disposal cost. CAPTOR 4060X has been used very successfully on major UK, US and Canadian projects. Being far more concentrated (typical use rate 1% as opposed to 5% for most alternatives) than its competitors it is more economical to transport and use. If you prefer to receive normal strength foaming agent, order EKOFOAM 20 or TKF Export Foam. Contact Morrison Mud for detailed advice on using this product in your TBM. If it is not fitted with foam generating and additive dosing equipment, or you need to upgrade, we can supply and install these at low cost. CAPTOR 4060X is vegetable based and specifically developed to ensure minimum environmental impact in the exported muck. It is the ideal choice for use where it is intended to re-use tunnel arisings or dispose of them on farmland or at sea. Non toxic; biodegradable. Normal treatment recommendation: from 1 to 5 kg per cubic metre of in situ spoil. The diluted product is compatible with all foam generators. For optimum performance set the dose rate after dilution initially at 3% to 5%. Safety MSDS and COSHH advice available on request. WGK 1 or lower depending on concentration. In the US and Canada, muck from TBM’s using CAPTOR 4060X has been repeatedly approved for dumping in lakes and on open farmland.
